- Annual Youth Trout Derby, March 28th, 8am-11am at Yoctangee
Lake, Yoctangee Park, Chillicothe. Chillicothe Parks and
Recreation Department announce the Annual Youth Trout Fishing
Derby. The ODNR, Division of Wildlife will release Trout in
Yoctangee Lake on Friday. Fishing for the general public will
not be permitted until after the derby. The Fishing Derby is for
children ages 5 – 15. The 5 fish bag limit will be enforced.
Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

- Tenth-Annual Earth Gathering festival (sponsored by the
Chillicothe Art League) Saturday, April 18, 12 pm-7 pm Earth
Gathering is a free community arts festival held annually in
April on the lawn of the Pump House Center for the Arts,
Enderlin Circle, Yoctangee Park, Chillicothe. The event was
designed to entertain, educate and inspire the public with
Earth-friendly art, music, food, products and ideas. In its
tenth year, this juried invitational art festival, now
permanently sponsored by the Chillicothe Art League, features
quality, affordable hand-made items such as fine art,
photography, ceramics, fiber art, jewelry, garden art, candles,
plants & herbs, natural soaps & lotions inspired by or created
from nature. All artists, musicians and organizations must
reside or be headquartered within a 100-mile radius of

- Organized by the Friends of the Hocking Hills State Park, the
tour will begin and end at Lake Logan State Park Beach. First
bike out at 11 a.m., last bike out at 1 p.m. BBQ dinner at beach
from 3-6 p.m. Covering approximately 100 miles, motorcyclists or
motorists will stop at many parks and lakes, including Ash Cave.
At each stop they receive a poker card and the participant with
the best hand at the end wins prizes! Registration, which
includes the BBQ dinner, is $25 for a single rider and $30 for a
driver and passenger. Proceeds will benefit programs and special

Railway Santa Train - Make this year's holiday memorable
with a ride on Santa's Special Train and the Hocking Valley
Scenic Railway! On-board you'll enjoy Christmas poems and
festive music. Santa Claus boards the train and visits with each
child as the train traverses the countryside. There's also a
special treat from Mrs. Santa for each child. Train dates: Every
Saturday and Sunday for four weeks starting Thanksgiving
weekend. Two trains depart each day at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. An
additional train departs at 6:00 pm on the last two Saturdays of

at The Dairy Barn - The Dairy Barn kicks off the holiday
season with its annual Holiday Bazaar. This winter event
features artists and artisans from the region and is a great
opportunity to find unique gifts for the holiday season. And the
Gallery Shop has an assortment of beautiful handmade ornaments

- Dec 5 - Dec 19, North Pole Express
- Riders of the North Pole Express are invited to come in their
pajamas and robes for the ride. Our Hocking Valley version of
Chris Van Allsburg's classic story will make the ride memorable!
Hot chocolate and cookies will be served as the train travels to
Logan. After the ride, passengers will follow the conductor to
North Pole Nelsonville for a visit with Santa and free ice
skating at Nelson Commons. Each child will receive a bell as a

Downtown Lancaster - Guided walking tour along sidewalks

- The Studio for Young Actors presents the beloved holiday
classic, A Christmas Carol. A Christmas Carol is a Victorian
morality tale of an old and bitter miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, who
undergoes a profound experience of redemption over the course of
one evening. Mr. Scrooge is a financier/money-changer who has
devoted his life to the accumulation of wealth. He holds
anything other than money in contempt, including friendship,
